ACMEC v. Township of West Pikeland
charges, among other things, that
WPT's failure to approve ACMEC's
development plans violated the
Religious
Land Use and Institutionalized Persons
Act of 2000 (RLUIPA). ACMEC has engaged
a legal firm specializing in RLUIPA
suits.
WPT denies the charges. |
|
WPT did not approve ACMEC's land
development plans due to
deed restriction violations, zoning
violations, and other technical
deficiencies -- applying the same
laws and land development principles
applicable to every landowner.
Successful RLUIPA suits have meant that
religious groups don't have to abide by
the same neutral zoning laws that every
other landowner must obey. |
